VOLUNTEEER ‘THE OCEAN’ ON ESPN 2 – VOLVO OCEAN RACE

Friday, January 23rd, 2015

We are very excited to take part in the development of Care Of’s Rasmus Bille Bahncke‘s own Volunteeer project. This epic tune has made it’s way onto global renewable energy campaign ‘A Race We Must Win’ a combined messaging strategy leading up to the COP21 international climate change conference in Paris spearheaded by wind turbine manufacturer Vestas. Watch here the undertaking of Rasmus performing the song live with a 60 piece childrens choir, as part of an ‘on water flashmob’ stunt during the Volvo Ocean Race starting sequence in Cape Town, South Africa. Parts of the stunt went live on ESPN 2  – Cover artwork by NR2154.

The song is available on all digital music platforms (Spotify/Apple Music etc) via Care Of Music’s label & distribution arm powered by The Orchard.

Listening Center: “Cycles / Other Phenomena”

Thursday, September 11th, 2014

We are proud to announce that the second album from Listening Center will be released October 1st via This Is Care Of.

All music was recorded live by David Mason, exclusively using analogue instruments. We still don’t quite understand how he does it, and we can’t stop listening….

Preorders for the limited edition cassette tapes are almost sold out via the Listening Center Bandcamp Store, so now might be the time if you are thinking to get a copy.

Hessismore: “Myheadisaballroom / Whoneedsapalaceanyway”

Thursday, September 11th, 2014

The new Hessismore album is out now, released by This Is Care Of in collaboration with Concierge Records.

Vinyl, CD, Lossless Digital Download and Sheet Music available through the band webstore at www.hessismore.com

This is the first album to feature the full transatlantic ensemble – recorded mostly live to tape at Midnight Sun Studio in Greenpoint. The repertoire was assembled during Hessismore’s residency at the Clocktower Gallery, and somehow this does not sound like any other record we know of.

We hope you will enjoy the music – and the terrific artwork created by NR2154

The Sun Also Rises

Tuesday, April 9th, 2013

The Sun Also Rises features two sets of songs: Five obscure tracks of African origin, recorded between the early ’80s and this past year, alongside five reinterpretations by artists drawn from the Scandinavian dance-music world. The album was initiated by Quartz+Co to create a musical reflection of its activities in Africa, where the company, which is based in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, has worked extensively to aid local entrepreneurship. To create the album, Quartz+Co called upon the services of This Is Care Of, a multimedia arts collective centered around the musicians Rasmus Bille Bahncke and Mikkel Hess and the designer Jacob Wildschioedtz—all Danish natives living in New York City. Unearthing the songs proved no small task. As Hess notes, “It was especially important to find songs that were, basically, the most bad-ass things we had heard in a long time.” – J. Ruttenberg Dec 3rd 2012, New York >> www.thesunalsorises.info
